Statistical Support for CIBMTR Studies

Main Content

CIBMTR statisticians assist investigators in designing studies that explore new and better ways to conduct hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) research. They help ensure that studies using the rich resources of CIBMTR databases yield relevant information. And, based on the information gleaned, future HCT recipients will benefit from past research, and outcomes will continue to improve.

Observational study support

CIBMTR observational studies are performed through our 15 Working Committees. Each has an assigned Statistical Director, as well as a Scientific Director providing statistical analysis and guidance. We provide investigators with statistical support through:

  • Assistance with statistical design of HCT, cellular therapy, and immunobiology studies, including those studies that incorporate analysis of biological samples
  • Advice and statistical consultation for study proposals and protocols
  • Oversight of ongoing studies that use CIBMTR databases, including Working Committee studies, Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network (BMT CTN) studies, and CIBMTR Clinical Research Organization Services (CRO Services) studies.
