Statistical Support for CIBMTR Studies

CIBMTR statisticians assist investigators in designing studies that explore new and better ways to conduct hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) research. They help ensure that studies using the rich resources of the CIBMTR databases yield relevant information. And, based on the information gleaned, future HCT recipients will benefit from past research, and outcomes will continue to improve.

Observational study support

CIBMTR observational studies are performed through our 19 Working Committees. Each has an assigned Master Statistician (MS), as well as a PhD Statistician providing statistical analysis and guidance. We provide investigators statistical support through:

  • Assistance with statistical design of HCT and immunobiolgy studies, including those studies that incorporate analysis of biological samples
  • Advice and statistical consultation for study proposals and protocols
  • Oversight on ongoing studies that use the CIBMTR databases, including Working Committee studies, Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network (BMT CTN) studies and Resource for Clinical Investigation in Blood and Marrow Transplant (RCI BMT) studies
