How to Request Samples from the NMDP Research Sample Repository

The National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP) Research Sample Repository offers investigators access to thousands of transplant recipient and donor samples with complete, validated clinical data.

Requesting samples

There are two methods for requesting samples:

  • For studies that include correlation with recipient clinical outcome data – follow the CIBMTR study proposal process.

  • For studies that do not require clinical outcome data – submit a description of the proposed study or required samples to research-repos@nmdp.org.

    • Data submission requirements

In return for access to the samples and data analysis support, investigators are required to submit the interpreted results of all assays performed on the samples to the NMDP. This data submission requirement ensures that all sample testing yields information that is readily available to the hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) research community for subsequent analysis, and eliminates or reduces duplicative testing to preserve resources and sample inventory.
